I made this poster for ART 119 using Adobe Illustrator. The class was experimenting with using type to convey a message. We looked at the work of Sister Corita Kent for inspiration. I love Sister Corita's work - I remember seeing pictures of her art in the 1960's, when I was a young kid. I think that her art is some of the first art that I really noticed in my life. I used one of Ruairi's collages from Swallowtail School for the background of the poster (with his permission) . . .
This assignment was interesting and I learned a lot, but it confirmed that graphic design is not really my "thing". :-) Time to go make some sculpture . . .
